Droz dit Busset a Bordeaux, circa 1790.Fine 18K gold quarter-repeating watch with unusual movement layout.
C. Two-body, "Directoire", polished. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute "star" divisions, fifteen-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 9 o'clock. Gold "spade" hands. M. 47 mm, hinged, crescent-shaped back plate with a bell set in the concave part, fixed barrel set under the bell, cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel, plain brass three-arm balance under continental cock pierced and engraved with initials "JD", repeating on bell by depressing the pendant.Signed on the movement, cock with initials "JD".Diam. 57 mm.
