The Lion HuntJohan Georg Hagen, Neüs, German, circa 1720.Fine and rare, silver, astronomical, hour- and quarter-striking clock watch with phases of the moon and date.

C. Two-body, the bezel pierced and engraved with foliage and chased with small animals, the back chased with a lion hunting scene, the border with four half-length portraits, pierced and engraved with foliage, shutters over the winding holes. D. Silver champlevé with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, moon phase aperture in the center, small aperture for the date on chapter "VI". Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chan, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance-spring, gilt brass English style cock with streamers and pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. Hour and quarter striking from the same train with gilt brass fixed barrel, very interesting striking mechanism in which the quarter rack function is only to block the main rack for the correct number of strikes, letting it fall to the end at the full hour, striking on a bell.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 65 mm.
