C. Three-body, "Empire", with glazed back and reeded band. D. Small, white enamel, with Breguet numerals. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. M. Urn-shaped, the plates overlaid with gilt engine-turned plaques engraved with floral decoration, the back plate decorated en suite. Cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance-spring, polished steel cock with polished steel end-piece.Signed Ls M. on the dial, case stamped with French 18K guarantee stamp.Diam. 47 mm.

Skeleton watches with enameled movements shaped like an urn are among the most attractive of the period and are much sought-after by collectors.From 1801 to 1814, Geneva was a French territory, and was therefore subject to the French requirements of guarantee marking.This watch is published in the Ruscitti book, as no. 46.Louis Moricandwas a watchmaker recorded in Geneva at the end of the eighteenth century.
