Notes

Carriage clocks with hour and half-hour striking of this small size are very rare. It is possible for the clock to be 8-day going and striking and this small size because the barrel for the striking is contained within the base and geared via a steel pinion and wheel to the striking work within the plates. This allows the space between the plates to house the large going barrel needed for 8-day running.
