?Petite Sonnerie? Leroy et Fils, 35 Avenue de l?Opera, Paris, No. 10710. Made circa 1880. Very fine, gilt brass, 8-day going, quarter-striking and repeating with two hammers on two gongs, carriage clock with alarm, fitted traveling case and key.

Gilt brass ?Empire?, fluted pilasters, stylized leaf friezes, the sides and top with beveled glass, hinged laurel wreath handle with lion?s head terminals, bun feet, sonnerie/silence lever in the base. D. White enamel, annular, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, annular white enamel alarm setting dial below with Arabic numerals, gilt brass mask with engine-turned ?honeycomb? decoration. Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. Rectangular gilt brass plates, four ring-turned pillars, barrels for going and striking trains, silvered platform with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating with two hammers on two gongs, alarm train with separate barrel and sounding with a further hammer. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 12 x 8.6 x 8 cm. excluding handle.
