?Lapis Inlaid Calendar Carriage Clock? La Vallée, Swiss, movement by Matthew Norman, No. 13 of a limited series of 400. Made circa 1982. Fine, giant, gilt brass and lapis lazuli, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking carriage clock with alarm, day, date, hour repeating, phases of the moon and moon?s age. Accompanied by original leather fitted box and two keys.
C. Rectangular, gilt brass, molded base, lapis-lazuli inlaid pillars, molded top with lapis-lazuli cornice, lapis lazuli inlaid hinged handle. D. White painted, black radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions, aperture for phases of the moon above 6 o?clock with the moon?s age on the edge, below dials for the date, days of the week and alarm. Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. Rectangular, gilt brass, back plate fully engraved with scrolling foliage, going barrels, foliate engraved gilt platform with straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance with self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator, striking, repeating and alarm on a coiled gong, repeating activated by depressing the push-button on the top of the case. Movement signed Matthew Norman, dial signed La Vallée. Dim. 18.5 x 12 x 10.2 cm. Excluding handle.
