Veronica Colondam, CE O of Loving the Nation?s Children Foundation
Veronica Colondam star ted the independent non-profit foundation YCAB, Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (which translates as Loving the Nation?s Children) in 1999. This social foundation focuses on drug abuse, an increasing problem among youth in Indonesia. Its activities help to save lives through education, awareness-raising and primary prevention of narcotics abuse. Veronica Colondam has also initiated the 25,000-member Youth Against Drug Abuse Club and has trained more than half a million youth nationwide. She works extensively with the Indonesian National Narcotic Board and received the National Gold Award from the Indonesian President in 2003. The United Nations Office of Drug Control commissioned her to become the Regional Coordinator of the Global Youth Network for the South East Asia and Pacific region in 2004. Veronica Colondam is also the mother of three children.
