S. Smith & Son, Makers to the Admiralty, 9 Strand, London, N° 148-99, bearing the London Hall Marks for 1899-1900. Rare and very important 18K gold hunting cased "triple complication", keyless minute repeating, moon phase astronomical watch with perpetual calendar, split second chronograph and 60 minute progressive recorder.

Four body massive "pomme et bassine" polished case. Gold cuvette. Fine white enamel dial (Willis), with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings, subsidiary dial for the days of the week, the 48 months of the leap year cycle, the dates and the seconds with an inner moon phase aperture. Blued steel "pear" hands. Fine gilt brass three quarter plate "highest quality" movement , 38 jewels in screwed settings, English lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with a terminal curve. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. The chronograph with a visible work, push pieces on the band. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
