Urban Jurgensen - Copenhagen No. 554, circa 1820. Very fine 18K gold quarter repeating watch with a special escapement.
Three body massive "Empire" engine turned case with a reeded band. Gilt brass cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass full plated movement with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, typical Jurgensen gold and steel double-wheel duplex escapement visible through a circular aperture on the back plate, plain gilt brass three armed balance with a ruby endstone bimetallic compensation curb ac-ting on the balance spring length. Repeating on gongs by means of the depressing pendant. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 56 mm.
