Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1815. Very fine and rare 18K gold quarter repeating musical watch with automatons, a short gold chain and agate set seal.

Three body massive "Empire" case with reeded band. Gilt brass cuvette. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals (small hair cracks) at the center, a chased three coloured gold automaton scene applied on a blued steel background depicting a young lady playing a guitar near a flowing fountain. Blued steel hands. Gilt brass double train movement with a going barrel, inverted cylinder escapement, plain brass three armed balance and polished steel endpiece. Repeating on gongs by means of the depressing pendant. The repeating work visible on the back plate. Musical train with a pointed disc and vibrating steel blades. The automatons are driven by the musical train. In good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
