Bovet, Fleurier, No. 776, made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Very fine 18K gold and enamel pearl set center second watch with a special escapement.
Double body massive " Empire" case with split pearl set edges, pendant and bow, very fine flowers painted in their natural colors on a mauve enamelled ground (very slightly scratched). Glazed gilt brass cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer minute and second rings. Blued steel "cuillere" hands. Gilt brass movement decorated overall with chased scrolls of foliage, Chinese caliber with a free standing barrel, duplex escapement with a plain threearmed brass balance set with three blued steel mock weights, ruby endstone. Signed on the dial and the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
