Poncet (Samuel) a Geneve, circa 1730. Fine 20k gold pair cased quarter repeating watch.

Double body outer repousse case. The bezel chased with birds flowers, quiver and arrows alternating with an openwork of scrolls, the back chased with cupids, flowers and scrolls, the edge with a similar decoration to that of the bezel. Double body bassine inner case engraved with a small landscape and with an openwork of en-graved inhabited folliage on the edge. Gold champleve dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel "variee" and poker hands. Silver dust cap. Gilt brass full plate movement with turned baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with a plain three armed steel balance, English cock. Striking on a bell by means of the depressing pendant. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 49 mm.
