Seb. Bauman a Paris, case repousse and chased by F.C. Langpour in Dresden, circa 1760. Very fine silver pair cased quarter repeating alarum coach watch with calendar.
Double body chagrin covered pierced outer case with a fine applied pierced ornamental plate chased with floral and rocaille decoration. Double body inner case, the bezel with a pierced scroll and rocaille chased decoration. A mythological scene repoussee on the back, depicting Hercules between Persee and Andromeda, with further floral and rocaille decoration. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, inner calendar ring and Arabic revolving alarm setting disc. Gilt brass Louis XV hands. Fine full plate gilt brass movement, the pillars with an applied silver scrolled decoration, fusee and chain, verge escapement with a plain brass three armed balance, a continental Louis XV cock and a polished steel endpiece. The pull winding repeating work and the alarm train with engraved gilt brass fixed barrels, striking on gongs. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 100 mm.
