Cornelius Roussel, Hague, circa 1640. Fine and rare gilt brass and rock crystal oval watch.

Double body case, with rock crystal glass and back. Gilt brass dial with Roman numerals, finely chased with a floral decoration. Blued steel single hand. Fine gilt brass oval full plate three wheel train movement with turned baluster pillars, fusee with a gut line, verge escapement with a steel balance wheel foliot and a very fine gilt brass single foot cock finely pierced and engraved with strawberry flowers, the mainspring with a worm screw regulation. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Dim. 42 x 27 mm.
