Thomas Earnshaw Invenit et fecit, London, N° 567- 3007, bearing the London Hall Marks for 1800-1801. Very fine 18K gold pair cased pocket chronometer.

Double body polished outer and inner cases, a mono-gram engraved on the back of the outer case, with the motto: " Semper Fidelis". White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. Gold Breguet hands. Very fine gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, the fusee with a maintaining power, typical Earnshaw spring detent escapement and two armed cut bimetallic balance with trapezoidal weights, ti-ming screws and diamond endstone, set with a special and unusual device in order to prevent a too important compensation for the high temperatures, blued steel helical balance spring, free sprung. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
