Thomas Earnshaw Invenit et fecit, London, N° 585- 3028, bearing the London Hall Marks for 1806-1807. Very fine 18K gold pair cased pocket chronometer with an original paper in the case giving the history of the owner's family and the date the chronometer was built.

Double body polished outer and inner cases, the coat of arms of the family engraved on the back of the outer ca-se. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds (very slightly restored on the edge beneath the bezel). Gold "heart" hands. Very fine gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, the fusee with a maintaining power, typical Earnshaw spring detent escapement and two armed cut bimetallic balance with trapezoidal weights, timing screws and diamond endstone, blued steel helical balance spring, free sprung. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
