Anonymous, probably Reuge in Ste. Croix, Swiss, made for the Indian market, circa 1900. Fine 18K gold keyless quarter repeating automaton watch.

Four body massive "demi-bassine et filets" polished case. Gold cuvette. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, a painted enamel automaton scene at the center, depicting a lumberjack cutting a tree in a forest, driven by the repeating train. Gilt brass 19" three quarter plate movement, 29 jewels in screwed settings, English lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. In good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
