A Monsieur Giély Watch No. 2868, sold on 7 November 1933, for the sum of 4500 Francs. Gold keyless watch with split- seconds chronograph and instantaneous 60 minute counter, awarded a "Bulletin de 1ère classe de l' Observatoire de Besançon". Original fitted tooled leather case.

Case: 18 ct., three body, Empire form,No.2868, with polished back and reeded band. Gold cuvette signed: "Breguet No. 2868", with the inscription: "Observatoire de Besançon, Bulletin de 1ère classe Médaille d'or".
Dial: White enamel, signed: "Breguet No.2868", with Breguet numerals, tachometer scale graduated to the base 1000, subsidiary seconds and 60 minute register (very small hair line cracks at edge). Blued-steel poises hands. Movement: Gilt brass, 19"', ébauche by G.Grogg, 26 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Guillaume compensation in brass and invar. Blued-steel balance spring with terminal curve. Split- seconds chronograph work visible on the back plate with push-pieces on the winding crown and the band.
In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
