A Monsieur Segond Clock No. 5096, completed on 22 December 1904, sold on 2 January 1908, for the sum of 650 Francs. Gilt metal and jasper carriage clock, with " petite sonnerie" striking, repeating and alarm.
Case: Empire style, inset with plaques of jasper,the gilt bronze decoration of palm foliage,cornucopia, a lyre, muses and ribbon knots.
Dial: White enamel, signed: "Breguet, No. 5096",
with Roman hour and Arabic minute numerals.
Chased gilt metal hands.
Movement: Eight day, rectangular brass plates
with two trains, the back plate signed: "Breguet,
No. 5096", the horizontal platform with straight
line lever escapement, and cut bimetallic balance.
Blued-steel Breguet balance spring. Quarterstriking,
alarm and push button released
quarter-repeating on two gongs. Small white
enamel alarm setting dial on the back plate.
Lever for sonnerie/silence under the base.
In good condition.
