A Monsieur Pusey Regulator No. 2858, completed on 31 December 1931, sold on 31 December 1937 for the sum of 23000 Old Francs. Month-going mahogany and brass longcase regulator.
Case: Glazed on three sides with arched
lacquered brass moulded frame, the back-board
and panelled plinth of figured mahogany, the
hinged front door secured by a key.
Dial: Grain-finished and silvered brass, signed: "Breguet, No. 2858", with Roman numerals,
subsidiary seconds below 12 o'clock. Highly
polished Breguet steel hands.
Movement: Brass rectangular plates with turned
pillars, Graham dead-beat escapement, with
adjustable jewelled pallets within polished steel
clamps and jewelled train. Mounted on a massive
spotted finish brass bracket, attached to the
backplate over a steel block, with three adjusting
screws, each with locking nut. Support for the
spring-suspended elinvar rod, with cylindrical
brass bob, adjustable timing weight tray and
micrometer beat-setting arm. Lacquered brass
weight.
In very good condition.
