A Monsieur Ducom de Bordeaux "Grande Horloge" Marine No. 3219, U2, sold on 7 December 1818, for the sum of 3000 Francs, with 10% discount, equalling 2700 Francs. Eight day marine chronometer suspended in gimbals in mahogany box.

Case: Two part solid mahogany box, with sliding observation panel in the lid. Brass handles and
fittings. The movement mounted in cylindrical
brass cowl and suspended within shaped square
gimbals (alterations and some distressing).
Dial: Eccentric, silvered, signed: "Breguet Neveu
& Comp., No. 3219 U2", with Roman hour and
Arabic minute numerals, symetrically positioned
subsidiary seconds ring, and an up-and-down
sector. Blued-steel Breguet hands.
Movement: Brass, three-quarter plate with
spotted finish and turned pillars, fusee with
maintaining power, navette shaped platform with
spring detent escapement, No. 21, bimetallic twoarm
compensation balance with cylindrical
weights and adjusting screws. Free sprung with
helical blued-steel balance spring, terminal
curves and adjustable stud.
