Extremely rare and important large 18-carat gold highly complicated minute repeating, pocket chronometer, with split second chronograph, 60 minute recorder and one minute tourbillon regulator, specially ordered by J. Pierpon Morgan on a very limited number to be presented to his close collegues. Massive four body 'pomme et bassine' polished case. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial (Willis) with Roman numerals and outer minute and second rings, subsidiary seconds and minute register. Blued steel 'fusee' hands. High grade 23"' three quarte plate gilt bras keyless movement (Nicole Nielsen with Victorin Elysée Piguet ébauche), 29 jewels, screwed setting, one minute tourbillon driven by the second's wheel. The three equidistant armed polished carriage with gold poising weights drives the chronograph by means of its external gearing. English lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold poising screws, blued balance spring with terminal curve, free sprung, brass and polished steel pierced cock. Visible chronograph work. Striking on gongs by means of a slide on the band. In excellent condition. Diam. 63 mm.
