Le Moulin d'Or Louis Duchène & Fils, Genève, No. 54112. Made circa 1800. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, polychrome enamel and pearl-set pocket watch with windmill automata.

C. Three-body, ?Empire?, hinged seed pearl-set bezels, the band decorated with white, black, blue and gold champlevé enamel and "Gage d'Amitie", glazed hinged back with seed pearl-set border, finely painted Geneva enamel and engraved gold alpine scene of figures walking along a track, engraved gold windmill and tree with blue paillon detail, the windmill with rotating sails directly driven from the contrate wheel pivot. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer gold painted minute track, winding aperture at 11 o'clock. Gold Breguet hands. M. 40 mm., frosted gilt full plate with flared turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, the upper pivot of the contrate wheel extended through the back of the case to power the windmill sails, pierced and chased continental balance cock, polished steel endplate, silver regulator dial. Movement signed. Diam. 47 mm.

Louis Duchène & Fils
Recorded from about 1791 to about 1820, they are known for coach watches with grande and petite sonnerie and calendar, repeating the minutes and quarters, watches with champlevé enamel and ?fantaisie? watches.
