The Music of Love Geneva, Swiss. Made circa 1800. Very fine, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set pocket watch.
C. Two-body, ?Directoire?, the bezel decorated with white and blue champleve enamel in a geometric pattern, polished band, the back decorated with a finely painted polychrome enamel scene of a young couple in a formal garden, he seated holding a guitar, split-pearl-set border, the surround decorated with engraved gold drapes, red and blue translucent enamel, flowers and a pair of doves above. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, winding arbour at 2. Gold pierced ?urn? hands. M. 39 mm., frosted gilt, full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, continental-type balance cock, polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. Diam. 50 mm.
