Louis XV Style Chaudé, Horloger de la Marine de l?Etat, 36 Palais Royal, Paris, No. 11706. Made circa 1880. Exceptional and very rare, very large, minute-repeating, 18K gold, keyless, Louis XVstyle pocket watch with chronograph and instantaneous 60-minute register.

C. Four-body, ?Louis XV?, the back chased with a scene depicting ancient warriors storming a palace, rocaille borders, band, and front bezel, chased bow. D. White convex enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost chronograph track divided into fifths, minute register at 12, subsidiary seconds at 6. Gold Louis XV hands. M. 56 mm (25???), frosted gilt, 37 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with outer terminal curve, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Cuvette signed, the scene punched with the chaser?s mark (a knight in a shield). Diam. 68 mm. From ?The Collection?
