German, 17th century.Iron gilt and engraved mantel watch holder, on the front is a door fixed on hinges and inside is the watch aperture with a hook, the whole richly decorated with floral carvings rests on four feet and can also be fixed on a wall. Previously in the Jean Puraye Collection, exhibited in the Musée International d'Horlogerie, la Chaux de Fonds.
