French, 18th century.Carved and gilt wood mantel watch holder, representing two putti, one lying down next to a dolphin on a rock under a finely chiseled arch, the other, above, with an oak leaf in his hands, the watch aperture and other parts decorated with scrolls, floral volutes and ornaments in the rococo style, the whole mounted on a shaped base.
