French, 19th century.Biscuit watch holder, representing a scene taken from the French traditional children's puppet show "Guignol", showing a thief with a watch in his hands, chased by a policeman, while climbing a wall, the watch aperture centered within a group of flowers; the underside of the base inscribed "L&M 1".
