Lambert (probably a French maker working in London) bearing the London Hall Marks for 1841-1842. Rare and unusual silver case key wound pocket chronometer.

Four body massive silver "Empire" engine-turned case in the French style. Silver cuvette. Breguet style silver engine turned dial with Roman numerals. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. Unusual gilt brass bar movement with free standing barrel, 12 jewels, early type of straight line lever escapement similar to that used by Breguet, two armed "s" type compensated balance after Arnold with gold poising and adjusting screws. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
