Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1810. Unusual 18-carat gold quarter repeating half skeletonized watch with two automaton Jacks and a small concealed erotic automaton scene.

Double body case with reeded bezel and twisted band, engine-turned back with reeded border. Very unusual gilt brass cuvette, chased and pierce with a scene of a monk at prayer in a church. Small white enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Three coloured gold automaton Jacks set on each side of the dial, over the visible polished steel repeating work, striking hours and quarters on two bells. Blued steel shutters beneath the dial with an applied chased automaton goat, browsing a bunsch of grapes, disclose a small automaton erotic scene driven by the striking train. Gilt brass full plate repeating movement with conical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with plain brass three armed balance, continental cock and polished steel endpiece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In good condition. Diam.: 60 mm.
