"NS" (Nicolaus Siebenhaer) Lubeck, circa 1620. Magnificent and important octogonal gilt bronze hour striking table clock with alarm previously in the Soltikoff collection this clock is described in the Dubois: "Collection archéologique du Prince Soltikoff", supplied with the clock.

The cast octogonal case finely chazed on each face with the figures of: Jupiter, Apollon, Diane, Saturne, Mars, Venus, Mercure and Pallas. Silver chapter ring with "champlevé" enamelled twice twelve roman numerals and 24 Arabic numerals in the German way, inner revolving alarum setting disc with twice 12 Arabic numerals on the border and a fine " champlevé" translucent enamelled decoration of scrolls, foliage and birds. Gilt dial plate with engraved palm leaves and touch pieces. Fine single iron hand with a gilt tip in form of a hand. Very fine gilt brass shaped full plate movement, the Master mark on the back plate, with turned baluster pillars, the going iron train of wheels, with a fusee now set with a chain, five leaf pinions, iron balance wheel foliot set with a balance spring toward the end of the XVllth century, original "s" shaped iron cock. Striking train with a fixed gilt brass barrel and an iron locking plate visible on the back plate. Alarum train with an iron going barrel. Striking on a later bell. In very good condition. Diam. 115 mm, 80 mm high.
