Anonymous, England, circa 1770. Very fine 20-carat gold repoussé travelling set with a watch.

Double body case, repoussé overall with "Venus and Eros", further cupids, flowers and "rocaille" decoration, diamond set push piece. The watch is set in the lower part. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Gold chased hands. Full plate rectangular movement set below the instruments, with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, a verge escapement and a plain three armed balance. In very good condition. Dim 110 x 38 mm.
