J. J. Jéquier, Lausanne, No. 5616, circa 1790. Unusual 18-carat gold and enamel quarter dumb repeating closed watch.

Double body "fermé" case, each body enamelled, one with the portrait of a gentleman, his coat of arms on the reverse, the other, with the portrait of his wife, her coat of arms on the reverse (both restored). White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. Gilt brass full plate repeating movement with conical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with a plain brass three armed balance, a continental cock and a polished steel endpiece, repeating on the case. In good condition. Diam.: 41 mm.
