Louis Audemars, Fournisseur de S. M. l'Empereur de Russie ? Brassus & Genève, No. 14265, circa 1890. Rare and important 18-carat gold quarter repeating moon phase astronomical watch with independant sweep second which can be set back to zero and instantaneous 30 minute recorder.

Four body massive "bassine et filet" case with engine turned back. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic and second ring, aperture for the days of the week, the date and the months, subsidiary minute register with inner moon phase aperture. Gold "pear" hands. Unusual 20"' gilt brass double train move-ment with differential winding, 50 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with a swan neck micrometric index. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. Inde-pendant sweep seconds with a visible work and a push piece on the winding crown to start, stop and reset the hand and the recorder. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
