Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1800. Very fine and rare 18-carat gold and enamel watch with passing automatons. Double body polished case with twisted band.

Small off set white enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Gilt brass "Breguet" hands. Fine gold and enamel dial plate finely painted with two cupids the symbols of Glory and Victory (very slightly restored on the edge), "champlevé" enamelled laurel branches on each side of the dial and a military helmet below the automaton aperture where a chased gold victorious army is passing over an enamelled painted landscape background. Gilt brass dust cap. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fixed barrel, cylinder escapement with three armed plain brass balance, continental cock with a polished steel endpiece. In good condition. Diam.: 54 mm.
