Seb. Carlesi, Livorno, circa 1840. Large 18-carat gold minute repeating "grande and petite sonnerie" clockwatch in a fitted mahogany box.
Four body case, bezel, band and border chased with flowers and shells, an engraved fountain on the back with two cupids, scrolls and flowers in the Renaissance style. Gold cuvette with engine-turned edge and "champlevé" enamelled and engraved scrolls and flowers. White enamel dial with Roman numerals. Gold "scoties" hands. Double train gilt brass movement with free standing barrels, cylinder escapement with plain gold three armed balance. "Grande and petite sonnerie" on three gongs with a visible work, repeating by means of the locking pump on the pendant. In good condition. Diam.: 61 mm.
