C. Fasoldt, Albany (N.Y.), No. 437, circa 1880. Extremely fine and rare 18-carat pink gold hunting cased pocket chronometer, patented in February 1st 1859, April 5th 1864 and March 7th 1867.

Four body massive "demi-bassine et filet" polished case with reeded band. Gold glazed cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel " Breguet" hands. Extremely fine 20"' nickel plated movement, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 15 jewels and two gold setting, with going barrel and a constant force on the second wheel, special Fasoldt escapement drawn from the Robin escapement with double escape wheel, one being used for locking, the second to give the impulse to the two armed cut bimetallic balance with screws, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve and a gold special Fasoldt micrometric index. The watch is wound by means of the crown which can be withdrawn in order to be used as a key to set the hands. In very good condition. Diam.: 55 mm.
