Charles Oudin, Horloger de la Marine, Palais Royal 52, Paris, circa 1865. Extremely rare 18 ct. gold "Six Pence" miniature key wound fob watch.

Four body "bassine et filets" polished case. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass 5 ' bar movement, 12 jewels, five wheel train, cylinder escapement with a plain gilt brass three armed balance. Signed on the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam.: 14 mm. The 11.25 mm. movement weights 1.5 g.

Notes

A similar watch was presented to the Queen Victoria. Only one other watch, slightly smaller is known nowadays, but it is not in a good condition. According to their size, such watches were named "Six Pence".
