Delachaux Frères, Locle, made for Wm.F. Ladd, New York, circa 1860. Rare 18 ct. gold hunting cased key wound improved patent quarter of second timing watch with independant seconds and a minute and hour recorder.
Four body massive "demibassine" engine turned case with reeded band. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer independant second ring allowing to read the quarter of second, subsidiary seconds and hour and minute register. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass 19"' double train movement with going barrels, 18 jewels, Swiss swan neck lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, balance spring with a terminal curve, the independant second bolt on the band. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam.: 52 mm.
