Anonymous, Japan, circa 1780. Rare shark skin covered Inro clockwatch suspended from a folding copper compass and sun dial and an ivory carved netsuke in the from of the face of a man.

Rectangular case with gilt brass side panels pierced and engraved with flowers, the front panel disclose the dial. Revolvig diad with sliding plates for the night and day variable hours, the name of each hour is displayed in a small aperture on the gilt bras dial plate below the dial. Blued steel fixed pointer. Full plate rectangular movement with cylindrical pillars, going barrels, verge escapement with a plain three armed steel balance and garnet endstone. The striking train with a going barrel and a locking plate. In good condition. Dim.: 65x45 mm.
