Anonymous, Japan, circa 1850. Shintan-wood Inro clockwatch suspended from a bronze egg pierced with a curly rope and flower decoration.

Revolving dial with sliding silver plates for the night and day variable Japanese hours, the half hours made of Shakudo. Blued steel fixed pointer. Full plate brass double train rectangular movement, engraved overall with a floral decoration, with turned pillars, the going train with fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three armed brass balance protected by the bell which is used as a cock. The striking train with a going barrel and a locking plate. In good condition. Dim.: 80x60 mm.
