C. Marcks & Co , Bombay & Poona, No 37494 and 37501, made for an important Maharadjah, circa 1890. The movement probably by Audemars-Piguet. Extremely rare set of two 18ct gold hunting cased keyless " grande and petite sonnerie" clockwatches with chronograph, the former with minute repeater, the latter with quarter repeater only.

Four body massive "bassine et filets" engine-turned cases, an escutchon on the covers. Gold cuvettes engraved with flowers and foliage. Gold champlevé dials, the centers finely enamelled with a painted jumping horse, roman numerals and outer Arabic minute and chronograph ring, subsidiary seconds. Gilt brass 19"' double train three quarter plate movements, with a differential winding, the former with 38 jewels, the latter with 42 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapements, cut bimetallic balances, Breguet balance springs. Striking and repeating on gongs by means of slides on the bands. The chronographs with a visible work, the push pieces on the bands. Signed on the dials and the movements. In very good condition. Diam.: 56 mm.
