Edward Howard No. 241, circa 1912. Very rare watch, special production from E. Howard Watch Co, Boston (about 300 pieces only were made).

Contemporary 14-carat four body "demi-bassine" case, manufactured by the same factory, the back engraved with a monogram. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. Pear blued steel hands. Frosted gilt brass 18bar movement, jewelled with 23 blued sapphires, straight line equilibrated lever escapment, two armed cut bimetaIIic balance with eccentric weight for mean time regulation, Breguet balance-spring, free sprung. In good condition. Diam. 53 mm.

This model was introduced in 1912 in order to
compete with the famous Waltham Premier Maximus
and was proclaimed as "the finest watch ever
produced in this or any other country...".
