Godfrie Poy London, No. 232, Swiss for the English market, circa 1770. Painted enamel signed: Ochindler. 18-carat gold and enamel cased half quarter dumb repeating watch.
Double body case, the chased bezel with a florale champlevé decoration, the back with a painted enamel barber scene, signed: Ochindler (slightly restored), further chased and enamelled decoration on the edge. Gilt metal dust cap. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and concentric Arabic minute ring. Rose diamond set Louis XV hands. Full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three armed balance, English type cock with diamond endstone. Striking on the case when depressing the pendant. In good condition. Diam. 46 mm.
