Tribute to LoveRoman, Melly & Roux à Constance, No. 1030, circa 1790.Very fine, 18K gold, painted on enamel, pearl-set watch accompanied by a matching chatelaine.

C. two-body, "Louis XVI", the back very finely painted with a maiden kneeling before an altar of love with two flaming hearts, an angel appearing in the clouds and two doves on a quiver, all in a classical setting, translucent blue frame with a rope-twist paillon pattern, the bezels set with half pearls. Chatelaine with two principal panels, the lower one painted on enamel with a maiden in a classical setting, the reverse with gold and green paillons forming a flower vase, the top one centered btranslucent dark blue enamel over "sunburst" engine-turning with a very fine paillon rosette, white enamel frame within two sectors of blue champlevé enamel with a decorative gold and green paillon pattern, both panels joined by four gold chains, the bottom panel finished with four chains bearing a gold and enamel key, a seal and two small matching panels with gold tassels. D. white enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 2 o'clockElaborate gold hands. M. 39.5 mm ø, hinged, gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass balance, continental symmetrical cock, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 50 mm.
