The Tiger HuntWest End Watch Co. Geneva, Bombay & Calcutta, Swiss, circa 1910.Very fine and rare, 18K gold, enamel, diamond-, emerald- and ruby-set, keyless, hunting-cased, double train, minute-repeating Grande Sonnerie carillon clockwatch, made for the Indian market.
C. four-body, "bassine et filets", the back cover centered by a very finely painted medallion with two tigers and hunters mounted on elephants, the border set with diamonds in a geometrical pattern, cabochon emeralds, and rubies, on a translucent scarlet enamel ground over elaborate engine-turning, the front cover centered by a large oval diamond surrounded by a garland of smaller ones, cabochon rubies and emeralds on a translucent dark blue enamel ground over engine-turning, the border with traslucent scarlet enamel over elaborate engine-turning, the band with a geometrical pattern in blue enamel, gold hinged cuvette. D. silver, blue Roman hour chapter on a gilt background, matching outer minute ring, engine-turned center, subsidiary seconds. "Spade" hands. M. 42 mm (18 1/2'''), rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 22 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, tandem winding, repeating on three gongs with thre hammers by a push button on the band at 3 o'clock.Signed on the dial.Diam. 50 mm.
