The BeeUnsigned, Swiss, circa 1925.Very fine and rare, platinum, 18K gold, enamel, diamond- and emerald-set, keyless, pendant form watch in the shape of a bee with matching Art Deco diamond brooch.

C. five-body, the spring-loaded wings set with diamonds, the edges in black onyx, the head and neck in black enamel, emerald-set eyes, the body with black champlevé enamel stripes, realistically formed bottom. The geometrically designed brooch entirely set with diamonds and joined to the beetle by diamond-set bar links. D. matte gilt, Arabic numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 10.5 x 14.6 mm (4 1/2 x 7 1/2'''), oval, nickel, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensaton balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring.Dim. Notes

The movement bears the patent No. 98834 which was granted to M. and A. Gidon from La Chaux-de-Fonds for a movement suitable for "rings and other pieces of jewelry", registered on December 5, 1921, the main idea of which was to move the mainspring barrel to another plane (duo-plan). It is interesting to note that the famous LeCoultre winding system for duo-plan watches was patented on January 17, 1927.
