Diana Armingaud Lne. A Paris. Made circa 1810. Very fine, gilt bronze and bronze, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking mantel clock.
C. Drum case supported on bronze rocks above a waterfall and flanked by water plants, the seated figure of Diana above holding a dead game bird in her left hand, the base set with a finely chased panels of goats flanked by game bird trophies, the bow ends mounted with neoclassical panels, raised on six toupie feet. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. Gilt brass pierced and engraved hands. M. Circular, 11.5 cm, barrels for the going and striking trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, brass bob pendulum, outside countwheel mounted on the backplate, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell. Dial signed, movement punched ?AN?. Dim. Height 48 cm, width 41 cm, depth 11 cm.
