Two Time Zone Independent Center-Seconds & 1/4 Secondes Foudroyantes Attributed to Charles E. Jacot, Swiss, No. 12973, retailed by Denis Bros. Melbourne. Made circa 1860. Fine and rare, 18K gold, hunting-cased pocket watch with two time zones, two-train independent center-seconds and quartersecond diablotine.
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", engine-turned covers with polished borders, polished band. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel, two meantime dials with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost seconds divided into fifths, subsidiary quartersecond jump diablotine. Blued steel pear hands. M. 46 mm., 20''', nickel-plated, 17 jewels, two going barrels, counterpoised lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, index regulator, independent center-seconds and quarter-second diablotine activated by a slide in the band. Movement signed Denis Bros. Melbourne. Diam. 55 mm.
