Austrian. Made circa 1820. Fine and rare, gilt brass, oval, boudoir wall clock with automaton and pull-wind quarter-repeating.
C. Oval, applied with cornucopiae and a central mask of Mercury at the top, ring suspension, the back with arbor for winding the going train, hinged rope-twist bezel. D. White enamel, annular, Arabic numerals, outer minute track, the blue enamel center with applied gilt jacks in classical dress appearing to strike the quarters on bells activated during the repeating, applied basket of flowers below. Steel pierced ovoid hands. M. Circular, gilt brass, full plate, verge escapement, brass balance with steel spring, pierced continental balance cock, repeating on gongs with pull-winding, levers for the repeat and pull-winding activated by cords. Length 17.3 cm x 14 cm x 2 cm.
